Hi ,
Entrepreneurship isn’t about avoiding challenges - it’s about what you do with them.
This month, I’ve been reflecting on something that’s become clear through my time on the board:
The best leaders don’t just ride momentum, they create it. They take the bumps, the dropped balls, the no-shows… and turn them into something better.
And that’s exactly what our board and committees have done this month. Three challenges, three transformations:
From risk to reward - one of our most highly rated events of the year
Wellbeing events can be hit or miss - but this one landed. The Elemental Breath & Sound Experience had members raving.
It was immersive, energising, and delivered real value in a totally different format.
Massive kudos to our Learning Chairs Vince & Natalia, and the events team for backing a bold idea and executing it flawlessly.
It was a deep reset for the body and mind and a welcome break from business. Something every leader needs more of.
I think everyone in attendance, myself included, had our fair share of breakthroughs, realisations and fresh clarity about what really matters - in business and beyond.
From ‘just checking in’ to deep member connection
This month, we also launched our Member Engagement Initiative, led by our Engagement Chair Foong-Yue Cheah and her committee of Navigators.
Keeping the mission simple - to help members get more out of EO - by creating personalised touchpoints, real conversations, and tailored suggestions based on where you are in your journey.
It’s a simple idea: match genuine support with relevant opportunities. But it’s already having a big impact.
Because let’s face it, staying engaged as an entrepreneur takes work. And it’s a lot easier when someone’s in your corner, guiding you forward.
From sunset to relaunch: the new Senior Leadership Program
Let’s be honest - our long-standing Key Executive Program needed a refresh…
Rather than letting it fade out, our Priority Programs Chair Shan Manickam took on the challenge and rebuilt it from the ground up.
The result is something we’re immensely proud of and excited to finally see in the wild - EO Melbourne’s new Senior Leadership Program, developed in partnership with EOS and Business Action.
Ten half-day sessions, expert facilitators, accountability coaching - all designed to help your 2iC grow into a confident, strategic operator who helps scale your vision.
A leadership mindset
Every one of these wins started the same way - with a problem. A gap, a “this isn’t quite working,” or an idea that wasn’t fully formed yet.
But instead of waiting for things to fix themselves, someone stepped up.
That’s what I’ve learned leadership is really about:
That mindset isn’t just for the board, it’s something we can all apply in business, in life, and in how we show up at EO.
A lot more to come next month - and as always, if you’ve got feedback, ideas, or want to connect, I’m just a call, email, or WhatsApp away (except during the usual 6–8pm family chaos).
