Hi ,
I’ve been thinking a lot about leadership this month.
Recently, I revisited some leadership training I completed many years ago at Bond University, including a servant leadership framework called WEAPS: Wisdom. Empathy. Altruism. Persuasiveness. Stewardship.
That last one — stewardship — has particularly stayed with me.
EO Melbourne turns 30 this year. For three decades, members have volunteered their time, shared openly, led Forums, organised events, welcomed new members, and helped build the community we all benefit from today.
In many ways, every generation of EO members becomes a temporary steward of the chapter.
We inherit something built by the people who came before us. We have an opportunity to make it stronger. And eventually, we hand it to the people who come next.
All of this has made me think about something: Leadership doesn’t always require a title.
Sometimes, it’s as simple as making an introduction. Sharing something vulnerable in Forum. Welcoming a new member. Putting your hand up to help. Checking in on someone. Or simply contributing your energy to making this community stronger.
Those small acts compound over time. So my question for you this month is:
What does stewardship look like for you — and what will you contribute to EO this month, this year and over the years to come?
Cheers,
Costa
