Chapter News December 2020

PRESIDENT'S UPDATE

Dear ,

A year that simultaneously feels as if it’s been the fastest yet longest 366 days.

A year that has pushed all of us into realms of discomfort and growth.

A year that will go down in history for all the right and wrong reasons.

There’s something comforting about starting a new year fresh, even if it’s only a clock’s hand tick away from the year before. The significance of being able to turn to a new page on a brand new year can bring a sense of relief and a spark of optimism.

We’ve all been dealt with some nice curveballs this year, and as we arrive at the tail end of 2020, there’s only one last thing left to do.

To celebrate.

Celebrate with those, such as our team, that stood by us.

Celebrate with those that supported us and inspired us.

Celebrate with those we love most.

On that note, it was wonderful to have celebrated with so many of you at our Christmas lunch. Even though we may have broken a few rules (bound to happen with 100 entrepreneurs in one room!) it didn’t dull the fact that we were finally able to clink glasses and share laughs.

We’ve got a full schedule of events planned for early 2021 so rest up, recharge and we’ll see you in the new year.

Keep the celebrations going until then!

Warmest regards,

Culture Bites

The APAC and South Asia regions have joined together to organise a video diary of family life in both regions, which is called Culture Bites. Each member of your family takes turns in asking each other some of the questions and then answering some of them through a video. The list of questions and full details are posted at https://bit.ly/340ex6C.

Film your family for each section using the video on your smartphone in landscape mode and simply send the videos for each section via email to eoapacfamilies@gmail.com with your family name and chapter as an ID. You can prepare a maximum of 5 minutes of video footage from your family. The deadline for recordings is at the end of February 2021.

Please email Bron Taylor, APAC Regional SLP Expert, your family's intention to participate (so that the organisers will have an idea of the numbers) and feel free to email any questions you have to brbt2076@gmail.com.

BlueRock

Are You Taking Advantage of Government Funding?

The pandemic has seen Australia’s state and federal governments invest billions of dollars through a variety of grants and incentives to help Aussie businesses get back on their feet. Across innovation, exporting, arts and culture, regions, manufacturing, sustainability and more, existing programs are being boosted and new programs are regularly being announced.

Business leaders should be aware of what’s on offer so that no opportunity passes you by. Tapping into government funding is a great way to grow your business and, with the right structure in place, we’ve seen so many Australian businesses reap huge rewards from the
multitude of government grants and incentives, including:

  • The Research and Development Tax Incentive (R&D)
  • The Export Market Development Grant (EMDG)
  • The Australian Government’s Modern Manufacturing Strategy
  • The Recycling Victoria Business Support Fund
  • The Australian Government’s Early Stage Innovation Company (ESIC) Tax Incentives

If you’d like to know more about how you can access government funding, reach out to the grants and incentives experts at BlueRock or call Tom Moore directly on 0417 136 604. BlueRock is offering a free consultation to EO Melbourne Members before the end of February 2021. Book Your Free Consultation!
